PCB panels of various types are now embedded in all electronic devices. One step in the production of printed circuit boards is their assembly. Cost Control helps to reveal optimization possibilities and shows potential savings.

DCircuit board placement is a subset of Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) and involves the setting and soldering of various electronic components onto a blank, bare PCB panel through specific setting and soldering techniques.
Until the 80s, the assembly of printed circuit boards was done by hand. Today, however, most associate the term printed circuit board assembly with (fully) automated SMT assembly (abbreviation for “surface mounted technology”).

After assembly of the printed circuit board, the components are soldered to the printed circuit board using soldering techniques such as reflow soldering, vapour phase soldering or wave soldering.
